This book should be required reading for venture capitalists, big companies or individuals who lack experience in healthcare but want to be involved in this huge industry. Dr. Vogel clearly articulates with substantive supporting data why healthcare is such a enigma to those who enter this complex industry. Time and time again big companies have spent billions of dollars to gain entry into healthcare only to watch their investments wither away primarily due to their naivety in desiring this industry to behave like retailing, hospitality aerospace, entertainment, financial services and many other industries where they excel. My suggestion to these investors is to read this book and save yourself some time and money.

I served in this sector for 45 + years. In one edition this book compresses so much reality in one edition it should be reading for millions working in or selling tech to the health care sector.
