Provides general information- drying time is too vague and needs work. Needs attention to preparation. A good starter book for beginners
This book is very detailed and addresses of concerns from bacteria to safe and handling of different foods. I recommend this book to anyone that is thinking about dehydrations of foods.
It gave sufficient details for fruit and vegetable plants. Will be useful when I am ready to st as rtf dehydration.Susan
There are valuable clues & tips to dehydrating. In spite of doing it some time now, I found some rather helpful info in this read.
There is some basic information included. It was easy to understand the information. There is a chart I liked. It has no pictures for those who like pics. As a beginner that has not tried this yet I do no have an educated opinion as to the validity of the information.

This is pretty good but I'd have liked more reviews of the dehydrating units out there and maybe the options. This should be a relatively simple process for perserving fresh produce but it doesn't sound that way...... and some of the drying units are REALLY expensive. The low-tech alternatives seem less then acceptable as far as time and mess. It's a starting place but lacks depth on alternatives and cost comparisions.
