About the Author
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Steve Rajtar came to Florida for college and decided to stay. The combination of a love of the outdoors and local history led him to establish of over 150 historical tour routes through the communities of Central Florida, which can be used by anyone to get "up close and personal" with the region's historic sites. He has written several books on various aspects of hiking and history and loves to guide tours by foot, bicycle and kayak.Kelly Goodman, Steve's daughter, is an Orlando native who spent much of her childhood in the Central Florida outdoors, where she developed a love of local history and culture. A graduate of the University of Central Florida, this is Kelly's first book, as well as her first collaboration with her dad.

This book serves a distinct purpose; to catalog the architecture of the city of St. Augustine. It is NOT a travel guide, and its coverage is limited to the historic sections of the city, not the beaches, not the county, and certainly nothing whatsoever to do with Daytona Beach or Disney World.The book is organized by street, and presents a catalog of almost every standing structure in the historic district. There are very few photographs.The descriptions included with each building give a brief architectural and cultural history. The book opens with a good chronological essay on the history of St. Augustine.I recommend this book for architectural historians and serious cultural tourists. For what it is, it's the best book out there.

This was good used with each address, however sights were not organized by theme, but by address and sometimes it was a little difficult to use.
